Earth.org is a collaboratively written travel guide (with a non-profit approach )

You just add your favourite restaurant in your hometown or some info on your traveling experiences. You share your knowledge - and if we all do this a new way of travel can emerge. You have suddenly free and reliable travel information in the Internet, as you have it now with Wikipedia for the world of encyclopedia.

Earth.org has a non-profit approach

Earth.org is independent from business interests - and because of this it is a social experiment depending on your engagement. Our only interest is you, the traveller, the sightseer, the explorer. Even if you are not travelling tell us about your hometown. If you join us and contribute it can happen!

At Earth.org we have no office! Our team members are placed all over the globe. We work from the beach or in the mountains, in cities or at the countryside, at home with kids or whilst traveling. Our big challenge: How can we communicate in such a remote team? We decided – just open!

Vive la France

Around the 14th of July some of the Earth.org team members met in Leynes, South Burgundy, France. Anne, Anna and Teresa arrived from Paris, Rob, Lotte and Fara from Breda, Michael from Venice and Otto from Bordeaux.
We had so much joy at seeing each other again! During the following days we enjoyed red wine (some more, some less :-), approximately 280 baguette and tons of cheese, celebrated a big party on the national day with the people of Leynes, rang the bells of the church, went kyting, cycling and horseriding. We spent hours together, sitting in the most beautiful "Chateau de Chabot", talking about Indian times and exchanging latest news.

Thanks so much to Anne and her parents for their great hospitality!

Big reunion party next week!

It is time for saying hello again to good old mates... from India and from Earth.org! Anne has invited all team members of Earth.org to celebrate a small party on the French National Day in her "Chateau" in Leynes. Anne promised us heaven on earth ---> French flair, an old donkey and a very special selection of Beaujoulais' wines.

I will meet Anne on 9th of July in Paris!! Yipiiee! So much looking forward...!

Am 7. Juni hat Chrisi's Schwester Tanja ihren Peter geheiratet. Gefeiert wurde Ecke Mühlviertel/ Hausruckviertel/ Innviertel im schmucken Neukirchen am Walde. Und ich als einziges Nicht-Familienmitglied war mittendrin statt nur dabei, danke für die Einladung!!

In Graz findet dieses Wochenende das erste österreichische Politcamp statt, veranstaltet als Barcamp und offenes Diskussionsforum! Der Jahrgang 06 von Journalismus und Unternehmenskommunikation organisierte gemeinsam mit Heinz Wittenbrink dieses Event. Ich wünsch euch einen reibungslosen Ablauf und viel Erfolg!

London. Reunion von Bierbrand aka Susanne Bier und Teresa Brand

Chaos. Warum sollte es auch anders sein. Brand auf der Liverpool Station ohne Bier’s Handynummer. Bier schon wieder zuhause in East London, aufgrund Unerreichbarkeit Brand’s.
Und doch, Taplow House nimmt Brand auf. East London, Shoreditch, Bricklane, Camden. Hierhin und nicht weiter reicht Brand’s Besuch in London. Kein Buckingham, keine Oxford, kein Picadilly, kein Hyde. Wir machen uns auf den Weg. In ein Pub, dann zu Jimmy und seinen Freunden, in deren geheimen wilden Garten mitten in London. Bier wird galant über die Mauer gehievt, dann wird der geheime wilde Garten mitten in London zu einem fremden geheimen wilden Garten mitten in London. Dann tiefer Schlaf.
Bricklane. Behütete Mädchen in giftigen Seidenleggings, rote Plastikfernseher im Gesicht, das Stillen mit der Brust wird thematisiert, es gibt rote Rindfleischburger und frischgrüne Stimmung im Hoxton Park. Und immer noch in East London. Verfolgt von Mister HipHop. Großartigst. Brand fühlt sich am Puls der Zeit und als Mädchen vom Lande. Was sie ja auch ist. Sehr gerne.
Bierbrand hat sich viel zu erzählen, auf verwaisten Busstationen und während kilometerlanger Fußmärsche, spätnachmittags im Camden Happening und frühmorgens im JazzCafe. Weniger im „1001“, da es zu laut ist, die Musik am Sonntagnachmittag in diesem Club ist erschütternd gut, Bierbrand bettet sich in die Ledercouch und beobachtet, unwillig und unbefähigt zu sprechen.
So weit so gut. Spätestens in Stansted am Schalter für Flug 1903 nach Linz weiß Brand, wohin der Weg sie führt: „Hee du Orschloch tua dein Koffa vo meine Fiaß oba“. Welcome Home!
